Hi everyone,
Yesterday, Thursday 4th May, the ladies section met for their golf outing.
It was well attended with 11 ladies golfing and another 15 ladies joining us for tea later.
The weather was very kind to us this year. The sun shone and a bit of wind kept the competition interesting..
The windy weather was the excuse for many of us not finding the fairway on the 3rd. Jessie Marshall did manage to find the fairway though and won the prize for the longest drive. Congratulations Jessie 🎉
We are usually challenged too by the 'nearest the pin' on our final hole. Just managing to be on the green is a cause for celebration. Too short, too wide and in my case usually too long has meant that we have struggled in recent years to award this prize to anyone BUT......this year, in her first year of playing with us, I was pleased to award 'nearest the pin' to Joanne Burt. 🎉
Now to the main event....
I'm delighted to say that the winner of our golf trophy this year is another fairly new member and recent addition to our ladies' committee, Jane Dearie.🏆 Well done, Jane, given that your handicap is much lower than the majority of your competitors you still managed to come top of class!
Thanks to all of you ladies for making it a fun day.
Have a good summer break and, when we get information about the get together, we'll be back in touch.
Rona
Forgot to ask anyone to take a photo for sharing on the website. Maybe Jane'll get her husband to take a picture on a phone with her trophy and send it to us for sharing? The next time you're heading out to golf on a sunny day would be good and we can pretend it's an original!
