On Thursday 11th December 20 ladies set off for Greenacres Ice Rink by coach. The weather was fairly cold and icy with poor road conditions but undeterred everyone left in good spirits. On arrival we enjoyed soup and crusty warm bread followed by tea/coffee and shortbread and then 5 rinks played a Bonspiel. Rinks changed opposition every end whilst one team sat off at each end. After playing 8 ends the eventual winners were the team skipped by Rebecca Gardner, 3rd Eileen Fleming, 2nd Nora Jackson and lead Isabel Brown. Members then enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea of sandwiches and tray bakes and the prizes were presented. A short Christmas Quiz followed which was won by the team of Anne Marsh, Rona McAlister and Jean Armstrong.
