Hi Everyone,
Sorry about the delay in posting this, but things have been a bit hectic in the McAlister household recently.
Our 2017/18 season opened on Thursday 28th September, with our Christine Mitchell Bonspiel.
We were joined by players from
Upperward Ladies CC, Douglas CC, East Kilbride & Hairmyres Ladies, Dippool CC, Strathaven Ladies, some friends of Christine's and our own Lesmahagow CC
men.
Thanks to a lot of hard work by our secretary, Merle, we had 47 players on the ice and everything ran to plan with the only hitch being my inability to remember name's correctly and to read with my varifocals. My apologies go to Agnes Strang whose name I managed to read out as Angus ( an unfortunate error as she is most definitely a lady) and to Lorna Baird who I managed to call Janice for no reason that I can think of! Things will improve as I get back into the swing of things 😀
Our congratulations go to the winners of the competition who had a score of +10.

At our Ladies Section 25th Anniversary Bonspiel, Christine was the president of our club and Alison Taylor, our Vice President, had
brought along some pictures of that event for us to look at after the tea last Thursday.
It remains very fitting that Christine's remembered at our opening bonspiel each year and next year's bonspiel will be marking the start
of events to celebrate the club's 50th Anniversary year.
