On Tuesday 21st March, the Scottish WI curling competition was held at Dumfries Ice Bowl.
Lanarkshire was represented by Hawksland WI's team of Ann Howie, Rebecca Gardner, Elizabeth Miller and Isobel Haddow.
After battling their way through that freak snow storm that hit us on Tuesday, the ladies arrived just in time to play their first game at 9am. No time to do anything but change their shoes before launching into the game. Unfortunately the hassle had taken its toll and they lost that game which put them into the Low Road competition.
The good news is that once they had a chance to relax a bit, they curled well and went on to win the Low Road competition.
